Momo
This is a popular street food in India which is originally a Tibetan recipe.
The word “momo” comes from a Chinese loanword “momo” which translates to “steamed bread”.These popular street dumplings stand as the most favourite food for kids today. Momos, originating from Tibet and it is a very popular street food in the country, largely in North-India. A versatile food that it is, we have a wide variety available from chicken, mutton to what we have here, vegetable momos. Momo is a type of steamed dumpling with some form of filling. In India, people are going crazy for momos. Main ingredients used in making momo are - White flour and-water dough; meat, vegetable or cheese filling served with tomato and sesame chutney dip, tomato soup, soybean and sesame soup.Sauce made from cooked tomatoes flavored with Timur (Szechuan pepper), minced red chilies is often served along with momo.
There are many varieties of momos we can find at the stalls, these varieties meaning, that it has different kinds of stuffing like meat , vegetable, paneer, tofu, etc.
